Scope of Position:

Responsible for the health, safety, and well- being of the individuals in the residential setting through advocacy and teaching under supervision.  Provide assistance to residents based on individual need.  Adheres to all agency policies and procedures and licensing/funding source requirements.

 

Primary Services:

  • Monitor residents at all times and be a constant presence in the milieu.  It is important to adhere to the program’s daily schedule in order to provide the residents with a sense of safety, security and structure.
  • Provide guidance and direction to residents and oversee resident activities to ensure conformance with program policies.
  • Develop residents’ skills in the areas of recreation, safety, social activities and daily living skills.
  • Write log entry notes throughout the shift noting any incidents and maintain regular communication with the other team members.
  • Perform all duties based on residents’ needs and schedule.
  • Monitor and ensure health and safety of residents.
  • Respond appropriately to residents and act as a role model.
  • Promote and protect the residents’ rights and maintain the confidentiality of protected information.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings to ensure effective and efficient programming.
  • Attend all required trainings.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Transport residents for necessary appointments and to outside meetings.
  • Facilitate urine and toxicology tests by following protocol.
  • Monitor the dispensing of medication by following protocol.
  • Participate in regular supervision, staff meetings, training seminars and case review.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the supervision of housekeeping and maintenance of the residence.
  • Maintain current CPR, First Aid, and annual TB screening.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Either a high school diploma or GED and must maintain a working driver’s license. Working knowledge of addiction treatment or related field preferred.
