What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference...
· Provide one-on-one support and coaching to individuals in recovery
· Facilitate peer support group.
· Deliver recovery-oriented workshops focused on recovery education and advocacy.
· Conduct outreach activities to effectively reach and engage with the community.
· Support peers to develop their own initiatives within the Recovery Center.

BSCS believes in investing in our staff and offers a comprehensive weekly Professional Development and Growth Seminar with your colleagues. These seminars are designed to assist with competencies needed for your license. Topics include Diagnosing, Ethics and Boundaries, Clinical Considerations, Substance Use Disorder Treatment to name a few. These seminars are facilitated by seasoned clinicians. In addition, BSCS offers extensive training in Evidence Based Practice including Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Services, and Substance Use Disorder Treatments.
At BSCS we are committed to developing you in becoming a well-trained and skilled clinician. As part of this position, you have access to the weekly Professional Development Seminars facilitated by seasoned clinicians in small cohort groups that offer intensive training on diagnostic criteria, evidence-based practices, trauma and much more. This training series is designed to prepare you for the LMHC and LICSW licensing test.
Requirements
- Lived experience with recovery is required.
- Recovery Coaches must attend the DPH-BSAS 5-day Recovery Coach Academy
- CARC certification is preferred or be working towards the certification.
- Understand and fully support the Recovery Coach Model.
- Understand and practice the 8 Dimensions of Wellness.
- Has deep understanding and appreciation of the recovery process and supports all pathways of recovery.
- Have familiarity with the local recovery community and resources.
- Have strong active listening and communication skills.
- Experience with group facilitation is preferred.
- Experience with public speaking is preferred.
- Able to develop trusting relationships, maintain good boundaries, and confidentiality.
- Basic computer skills are required and can maintain and update records and data.
- Have strong organizational skills (oral and written) and able to pay attention to details.
- Able to maintain a daily schedule, able to multi-task and re-prioritize when needed.
