POSITION:     HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

LOCATION:    187 High Street, Holyoke, Massachusetts

POSITION TYPE: FULL-TIME (40 hours per week)

PAY RATE RANGE: $24 - $26 per hour based on experience

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join the Human Resources. This position serves a critical need in ensuring smooth human resources processes across the agency. At times, this includes serving as the point of contact for visitors to and employees at the Consortium.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A professional with fundamental knowledge in a broad array of topics related to employee benefits, compensation, hiring, onboarding and evaluations. 
  • An ability to manage confidential information both written and verbal, as well as handling sensitive situations and documents.
  • Good judgement, predictability, excellent communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to anticipate human resources needs in a non-profit committed to social justice.
  • Effective interpersonal engagement to ensure and create a welcoming and positive environment for all.
  • A team spirit but also able to work independently, and able to take initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite, databases, and online communication including email (outlook). An advanced knowledge in Excel (creating worksheets, workbooks, formulas, data sorting and filters, formatting worksheets, saving, etc.).
  • Familiar with human resources and labor practices, regulations, policies, keeping pertinent records and managing relevant inquiries.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice.
  • Ability to follow through on project related assignments in a complete and timely manner.
  • Able to articulate what needs to be done and work with a team to see a project to completion.
  • A commitment to valuing people with lived experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience with human resources processes, projects, and activities such as recruitment, hiring, background and reference checks, payroll,
  • Experience creating and reading reports.
