Clinical/Program Director, Boston Area Programs

We are looking for a dynamic practitioner with a passion for recovery and an unwavering belief in people’s ability to heal to join our dedicated team as Gould Farm’s Clinical/Program Director (CPD) of the Boston Area Programs (BAP). The CPD liaises with the Farm Clinical Team to ensure the smooth transition of Farm guests transitioning on their recovery journey toward greater independence. Guided by the Executive Director, the CPD is responsible for the daily operations, leadership and clinical care of the BAP Transitional Residential, Non-Residential Support Services, and Extended Community programs. 

The CPD supervises BAP clinical, residential and maintenance staff ensuring the delivery of high-quality therapeutic services, fostering a trauma-informed, client-centered, supportive healing environment. The CPD promotes the values and spirit of Gould Farm by embodying a strengths-based recovery model and a commitment to anti-oppression work, and an honoring of differences including LGBTQIA+, race, ethnicity, socio-economic, and neurodivergence. The CPD nurtures the BAP through role modeling self-care and wellness awareness, and the therapeutic value of intentional community participation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Leadership:

  • Serve as a member of the senior leadership team providing strategic direction and leadership for the BAP, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, values, and strategic plans.
  • Develop and implement clinical and programmatic policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance and programmatic services are provided ethically and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the BAP team to design and implement individualized recovery plans in partnership with program participants, their psychotherapists and family partners.
  • Monitor, evaluate and adjust clinical interventions to optimize effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Integrate advancements in mental health and substance use treatment into clinical practices.
  • Available for crisis consultation and management as needed. Capable of appropriate independent judgment to determine the appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
  • Facilitate critical incident reviews and staff debriefings in the event of a crisis or emergency.

Team Management and Development:

  • Hire, train, and develop a diverse BAP team ensuring proper training and supportive onboarding.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, while maintaining internal policies, promoting teamwork, and open communication including facilitating weekly Staff and Clinical meetings.
  • Provide regular supervision, feedback, and performance evaluations to staff members, promoting their continued skill development and professional growth.

Programmatic Oversight:

  • Collaborate with Assistant Program Director in overseeing the BAP budget, ensuring timely financial reporting and interfacing with Accounting Dept. re: submission of invoices and receipts.
  • Support the Assistant Program Director with their role as the point person for IT needs, inventory and purchasing of office, house, PPE and food supplies as well as nutritional wellness.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Program Director to manage house maintenance issues and vendors.
  • Lead planning, implementation and evaluation of BAP therapeutic activities and wellness groups.
  • Oversee documentation and record-keeping processes to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory standards; maintain DMH license for transitional residential program.
  • Ability to work/be on-call evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled/necessary. Coordinate staff schedules with Assistant Program Director. Other duties as requested or required.
  • Community, Collaboration and External Relations:

  • Collaborate with the Admissions Director re: admissions decisions, including reviewing records, interviewing applicant families to evaluate for suitability for participation in the program.
  • Liaise with family partners from admission through discharge; co-facilitate family meetings.
  • Interface with psychiatrists, therapists, and other external supports to strive for comprehensive care for program participants to ensure high-quality therapeutic services, including collaboration with employers, volunteer placement agencies, and educational/vocational/benefits supports.
  • Participate in meals, activities, weekly community meetings and holiday celebrations.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with referring agencies, community organizations/providers, neighbors, etc.; represent the organization at professional events.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

     

  • Master's degree and current licensure in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in mental health or co-occurring substance use treatment, with strong background in residential settings and group dynamics. CADC/LADC a +!
  • Experienced leader/manager, demonstrating the ability to effectively supervise and mentor staff.
  • Broad knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, IFS, MBT, ACT, motivational interviewing and psychodynamic interventions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build warm rapport and establish collaborative relationships with guests, staff, family partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, best practices and electronic health records in mental health and co-occurring substance use treatment with a commitment to quality improvement.
  • Commitment to participate in and foster the therapeutic community milieu.

    Compensation: Salary range $70,000 to $80,000 with a great benefits package including medical insurance (employer pays 85% of premiums and up to 100% of deductible), dental/vision/life insurance (employer pays 100%), generous Paid Time Off (PTO includes 5 weeks of vacation and holidays the first two years and 6 weeks thereafter), generous sick time accrual, 401K.
