We are looking for a Clinical Supervisor to join our outpatient team! The Clinical Supervisor directs and manages an effective clinical service delivery team using applicable principles of Social Work and/or Counseling which include – patient psychosocial assessment, group and individual psychotherapy, family intervention, patient/family education and treatment planning. The candidate must have addiction counseling certification in good standing, or an appropriate license. This is full-time position and will require 40 hours /week commitment.
The Clinical Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Outpatient Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in the review of clinical issues and development of programs, policies, and procedures in collaboration with Director of Outpatient Services to meet and/or exceed DPH and BSAS licensure requirements and CARF accreditation.
- Leads the clinical team as a model for cultural responsiveness and affirmative practice with training and targeted supervision as needed.
- Provides clinician induction and training when onboarding.
- Provides regular individual and group supervision to clinicians with consistent documentation.
- Performs intakes on new clients, completes substance use evaluations, and assigns to appropriate clinician internally
- Oversees IOP program
- Develops and coordinates training sessions and workshops to enhance clinician treatment skills
- Coordinates and facilitates clinician placements in the community as needed
- Develops internship program with regional graduate programs and participates in training/meetings for placement supervisors.
- Supervises interns in placement.
- Participates in and/or leads staff meetings, team conferences and outpatient team meetings.
- Conducts assessment of each patient’s psychosocial status and functioning to document history and identify preliminary items for the treatment plan.
- Facilitates the overall development and implementation of a comprehensive, individualized plan of treatment in conjunction with other treatment team members.
- Incorporates the patient’s psychosocial functioning and strengths in the plan of care.
- Formulates a treatment plan with the client, using knowledge of behavioral health risk factors and counseling and treatment techniques.
- Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for patients or clients in a crisis.
- Follows up to determine reliability and validity of treatment used; makes recommendations regarding modification to services and services delivery.
- Prepares and maintains reports and case histories.
- Consults with other clinicians and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework; refers clients to appropriate service agencies as required.
- Maintains current knowledge base on counseling issues regarding behavioral health, substance use treatment and other psychosocial disorders as well as through conferences, educational requirements for licensure, and applicable current literature.

Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent supervisory, interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to take initiative and problem-solve quickly and efficiently.
- Experience with a EHR/EMR.
- Must have completed a master’s degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field: clinical psychology, social work, mental health counseling, education-counseling, medicine, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling,
- LICSW or LMHC minimum requirement to supervise and lead clinical team and interns.
- LADC I or equivalent qualification in alcohol and addiction treatment preferred.
- 5 years minimum experience working in mental health field including substance use treatment.
- Experience working with clients and their families across the lifespan (children, adolescent, adults)
- Demonstrable cultural responsiveness, affirmative practice, and awareness of issues of equity and bias in practice
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with leadership teams, clinicians, and community stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead a positive team with emphasis on continuing clinician growth and professional development.
- Solid technology skills and flexibility to learn new or changing systems.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings: Adam Walsh/DCF background check, CORI, and drug screen
Environment and Physical Requirements
- This position operates in a clinical setting for the majority of the time.
- There may be occasional work outside of the clinic, such as in a local school.
- Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move throughout the clinic
