2024 Bilingual On-Farm-Clinic Outreach and Scheduler – Independent Contractor

This is a seasonal independent contractor position as opposed to an employee.

Salary range:  $25-$32/ hour depending on lived experience and qualifications.

The Total hours are approximately (40-50) for the entire growing season.

This position is critical to the success of People’s Medicine Project’s (PMP) On-Farm-Clinic program.  The People’s Medicine Project seeks to increase the accessibility of holistic and culturally relevant health care.  Our On-Farm-Clinics provide health support for immigrant and temporary farm workers who are exposed to overwork, hazardous working conditions, and stress due to immigration status.  Clinics provide on-site comfort, care, symptom relief, as well as the opportunity to connect with primary care.

 Responsibilities:

  1. Outreach visits to farms before clinics. 
  2. Create written materials describing services.
  3. ***Attend all farm worker clinics.  These are 4-5 hours (½ day) once monthly May-October.  Dates not set yet, and will depend on person’s availability, in coordination with practitioners and farm.
  4. Coordinating client scheduling day of clinic. Support clinic flow, and participants accessing services with ease and comfort.
  5. Help set up clinic space on the farm.
  6. Learn about traditional uses of the herbs for our participants.  Help the team develop offerings that are needed and wanted. 
  7. Create and maintain relevant signage in Spanish at clinics.
  8. Translate as needed at clinics.

Qualifications:

Independent Contractor must be:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/ English)
  • Flexible and able to work as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with approaching new people and new situations.
  • Have transportation to the farm in Hadley.

  • Lived experience of immigration
  • Lived experience of farm work
