VIRTUAL: Intergenerational Trauma (636)

Event description
Sponsored by BSAS
Yes

The development of, and risk factors for, trauma related behaviors to include anxiety, depression and self-harm, often come from an intergenerational context. The exogenous factors of being raised in an environment of trauma can reinforce fight/flight responses as an everyday.

The impact can be upon the contributions to behavior, symptoms, and the interventions used to assist in stabilizing the individual. Mental health and substance use contributions also vary by gender as do issues of vocational, socio-economic, and relational dynamics.
