Description:
Good supervision has been linked to many positive outcomes for organizations; however, many supervisors are promoted from direct care staff without training in supervisory skills. Gaining skills and tools to become a better supervisor is essential to creating successful teams, organizations, and ultimately good client care. Additionally, over the past 20 years, many organizations have implemented trauma-informed services for clients. However, trauma impacts staff as well as clients, and a trauma-informed approach to supervision is less common and less explicit. This training explores the application of a trauma-informed lens to the supervisory relationship, as well as tools to manage the most common challenges of supervision.
