This training is meant for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) working in the addiction field who are interested in becoming Certified Addictions Registered Nurses - Advanced Practice (CARN-AP). The course is intended to support nurses studying for the certification exam by reviewing test-taking tips and strategies for answering exam questions, including reviewing practice questions, rationales, and associated resources.
Intended audience
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) with experience treating patients with addiction who intend to sit for the CARN-AP exam.
Objectives
1. Describe the role of the test blueprint in identifying topics and domains covered on the CARN-AP exam.
2. Identify strategies for breaking down the stem of a question, including identifying the knowledge or skill being assessed by the question.
3. Demonstrate ability to reason through answer options and eliminate distractors by doing practice questions.
4. Recognize content to focus on studying in preparation for the exam.
