A workshop for substance abuse counselors preparing for the credentialing exam
All courses in the University of Massachusetts System will be offered online only until further notice. For those of you new to the UMass system, our online education is based on three simple and very popular online tools.
You will need a UMass email account if you do not already have one. The account is automatically created for you as soon as you register and a student ID# will be assigned (further Registration information to follow) To create an email account, use this link AFTER you register and contact the IT Dept if you need assistance: https://www.umb.edu/it/email/students
Your login for email will allow you to open the necessary program, Blackboard, to access Workshop materials. The UMass Boston Information Technology (IT) website, umb.edu/it, the IT Dept hotline (617.287.5220) and the instructor: damien.turini001@umb.edu, are all capable of assisting those of you who are new to the University of Massachusetts Boston.
Please see below for an outline of the new course structure:
May 16, 2020: Prep Course Blackboard site will open. All of the material that would have been provided in class will be available in Blackboard.
May 16, 2020 - May 22, 2020: Students should use this time to review all the provided material, which will include a mix of handouts, study guides, videos, and practice exams.
May 20, 2020: Zoom Meeting 1: From 5:30 – 7:30 PM, students can join a live Zoom Meeting where the instructor will cover material provided in the Blackboard site.
May 23, 2020: Zoom Meeting 2: From 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM, students can join a live Zoom meeting where we will go over the results of both the practice exams. Results for the exam will not be provided until after the live meeting.
