Recovery Coaching is a growing role/ service that is being implemented across a wide array of systems. Community Health Centers, Behavioral Health Settings, Emergency Departments, Police and Criminal Justice Settings, Recovery Centers, Schools, Primary Care, Department of

Children and Families, Faith based settings, Public Housing, amongst other settings have all benefited from Peer Recovery Supports.

In order to maintain the fidelity of the role across these systems, a solid understanding of Recovery Orientation and the Peer model is key. In order for these services to be effective, clear communication skills are essential to the peer roles. In this training, Peer Supervisors and

workers alike will enhance their communication skills as a vital part of their craft.

After this training, Participants will be able to :

  • Discover key communication challenges participants are experiencing in the field.
  • Review various styles of effective communication and reflect on the efficacy of our own

    styles.
  • Explore different methods communication tools and skills available and

    implement them effectively within their professional roles .

This class is partially funded by a grant from RIZE Massachusetts Foundation, a foundation committed to ending the opioid epidemic and reducing its devastating impact on people, families, and communities.
