Training Description:
This 3-hour training is aimed at direct-care staff, mid- to advanced level experienced clinicians and administrators to improve their skills in working with children and adolescents by defining, exploring and enhancing their knowledge of professional ethic and boundaries.
The core content of the training involves defining professional boundaries, ethics, and ethical congruence. Participants will be taught how effective boundaries in the workplace are critical to an effective, sustainable career; how to celebrate your contributions and minimize staff/team splitting; understanding boundary red flags and violations; avoiding staff burnout; maintaining one’s physical and emotional safety and well-being, and how to create effective helping relationships to support client growth and understanding.
Participants will enhance their skills via group discussions and case scenarios to assess their understanding of ethically challenging situations, and make appropriate choices based on healthy helping relationships (i.e. keeping the best interests of the client first) as well as avoiding boundary violations (i.e. not following agency policies).
