Virtual* Beyond the Call: Recovery Wellness Theory, Practice and Healing for Front Line Workers and First Responders
Social unrest and political uncertainty, along with a global pandemic, have made for an enormous disconnection for communities worldwide experiencing great dissonance and dissatisfaction. The spike in growing substance use and mental health challenges have brought on greater distress for individuals, heartache for families, and preoccupation for communities. Add in the growing decriminalization of substances, along with progressive conversations on justice reform, and it makes for strange times, which will require different approaches.

This workshop was created in order to better prepare the mindset to support communities accordingly, thus creating a greater union of our people and stronger, more robust, communities across our nation. During this workshop, participants will:

Explore their personal intentions and examine how they understand their role as public servants; Analyze public perception and how it affects their daily behavioral leadership; Review recovery principles and examine how they relate to their work in the community; Reflect on their state of consciousness during response and outline a process of de-escalation in a trauma informed manner; and Revise the concept of a “Recovery Oriented System of Care” (ROSC) and follow its ability to transform communities.

* Computer and internet connection required. This course provides 6 CEUs.
