Tobacco Education Coordinator (TEC) meetings are held twice a year. The Spring 2020 series will be held online, on the Zoom platform. We have set up three meeting dates and times for you to choose from. Please register for the day and time that is most convenient for you-all three trainings are the same.
TEC meetings provide opportunities for training, discussion, and resource sharing. Each BSAS funded and licensed program must designate a staff member to be the Tobacco Education Coordinator (TEC). Meetings are designed to support TECs to assist their programs in integrating tobacco education, assessment, and treatment. We are excited to note that this spring's agenda will include:
- Current information, handouts and resources on the impact of smoking/vaping on COVID-19 disease progression
- Updates on coming changes in MA laws regarding the sale of tobacco, including menthol flavored products
- A focus on tobacco and racial equity issues through the lens of menthol flavoring
- A video presentation of “Black Lives, Black Lungs”
Meetings will be facilitated by IHR’s Tobacco, Addictions, Policy and Education (TAPE) staff, including Janet Smeltz, Louise Katz, Kristina Fenn Silver, and Annegret Klaua.

All meetings will open 15 minutes prior to the start of the trainings for Zoom platform instructions. Due to the change in learning environments, we will not be offering CEUs for this training.
