Two MassHealth DSRIP Statewide Investments for BH Workforce – Student Loan Repayment, Special Project Funding (Time-sensitive Application Deadlines)
DEADLINE HAS NOW PASSED - MassHealth DSRIP Statewide Investments: Application Release for Community-Based Primary Care and Behavioral Health Workforce Initiatives: Primary Care/Behavioral Health Special Projects Program
The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, on behalf of MassHealth and in close collaboration with the Association for Behavioral Healthcare, has released applications as part of the Primary Care/Behavioral Health Special Projects Program. The Program aims to engage and retain primary care and behavioral health providers in community settings across Massachusetts while supporting innovative on-the-ground projects that advance the ability of community-based provider organizations to succeed in an accountable care environment. The Primary Care/Behavioral Health Special Projects Program supports approximately 120 provider-led projects over five years. Up to $40,000 will be made available for each project.
A webinar was held, Tuesday, April 3, to provide more details about the Program. The webinar was intended to be recorded and accessible after 4/3. Questions are due April 13, 2018. Applications are due April 30, 2018.

DEADLINE HAS PASSED - MassHealth DSRIP Statewide Investments: Application Release for Community-Based Primary Care and Behavioral Health Workforce Initiatives: Student Loan Repayment Program & BH Workforce Development Program
The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers (the Mass League), on behalf of MassHealth and in close collaboration with the Association for Behavioral Healthcare, has released applications as part of the Student Loan Repayment (SLR) Program and the Behavioral Health Workforce Development (BHWD) Program. The SLR Program and the BHWD Program are two of seven programs the Mass League will be administering as part of the MassHealth Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Statewide Investment programs.
The Student Loan Repayment Program aims to address the shortage of primary care and behavioral health providers practicing in community-based settings by offering partial repayment of student loan obligations for providers who commit to four years of service in a community-based setting. Quarterly learning days, along with salary replacement support for employer organizations, will also be offered to enhance the commitment of participating providers to community-based careers. The SLR Program will accept applications annually over the next four years. There are 70 slots of up to $50,000 in student loan repayment over two years for family physicians, general internists, pediatricians, psychiatrists, psychologists, APRNs, NPs, PCNSs, PAs, LICSWs, LCSWs, LMHCs, LMFTs, and/or LADC1s. The Behavioral Health Workforce Development Program aims to address the shortage of behavioral health providers practicing in community-based settings by offering partial repayment of student loan obligations for providers who commit to four years of service in a community-based behavioral health setting. Quarterly learning days, along with salary replacement support for employer organizations, will also be offered to enhance the commitment of participating providers to community-based careers. The BHWD Program will operate for a single application cycle only. There are 35 slots of $30,000 in student loan repayment over two years for LICSWs, LCSWs, LMHCs, LMFTs, and/or LADC1s and unlicensed behavioral health professionals.
