At Peer2Peer Recovery Support Center in Fall River, Program Supervisor Thomas (Tommy) Rogers and Director Destinee Barnes work hard every day to create a welcoming, accepting, respectful, and empowering environment for all members, volunteers, and peers.
Tommy plans, hosts, and organizes Steppingstone Culture Chat events and through this is educating all staff at Steppingstone about the beauty and value of differences, and the power of knowledge and understanding. The events have ranged from respecting all paths of recovery to Down Syndrome awareness. It's enriched all of us as Steppingstone staff and as human beings!
Destinee is a great leader who ensures that fidelity of peer services is the living, breathing, mission at the Center, and that our Board and Executive Leaders understand and value and the importance of peer services within our organization. She facilitates Recovery Coach Academy sessions regularly, and has supported coordinators to become Recovery Coach Professional Facilitators.
Both Destinee and Thomas are instrumental in creating an atmosphere that promotes our core values of recovery, choice, and community; inclusion, diversity, and equity; and a whole lot of fun!
