WE’RE HIRING: PART-TIME RECOVERY COACH
Restoration Recovery Center in Fitchburg is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and highly motivated Recovery Coach to join our team.
We are specifically looking for someone who is comfortable working with individuals experiencing homelessness, active substance use, and co-occurring mental health challenges.
This is a hands-on, community-based position. We need someone who can meet people where they are—literally and figuratively—and build relationships with individuals who may not yet be ready for treatment or abstinence but still deserve support, dignity, resources, and connection.
The right person for this role will:
• Have experience working with individuals who are unhoused or housing insecure
• Be comfortable engaging individuals who may still be actively using substances
• Understand how to support people experiencing significant or urgent mental health needs while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
• Be trauma-informed, compassionate, nonjudgmental, and recovery-oriented
• Be comfortable conducting outreach in the community, including engaging individuals in areas where people experiencing homelessness congregate
• Have strong knowledge of—or the ability to quickly learn—local detox, treatment, behavioral health, housing, and community resources
• Be dependable and able to complete required documentation consistently and on time
• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
CARC certification is preferred, or candidates must be willing to obtain certification within 6 months. Lived experience with recovery is also highly valued.
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Potential shift: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM or 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
Location: Fitchburg, MA with community-based outreach throughout the surrounding area
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who truly believes in meeting people where they are and understands that recovery does not always begin when someone walks through the door asking for help. Sometimes it begins because someone took the time to go out, build trust, listen, and let them know that help is available when they are ready.
If this sounds like you—or you know someone who would be a great fit—please send me a private message or share this post.
Please share with your recovery, behavioral health, homeless services, and community outreach networks!
