Position Title: Outreach Specialist

Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Compensation: $24.00–$26.00 per hour (based on experience)

Reports To: Program Director

Position Summary

Restoration Recovery Center (RRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by substance use disorders through recovery support, outreach, education, and community collaboration. The Outreach Specialist serves as the first point of engagement for many community members and is responsible for conducting grassroots outreach, building community partnerships, connecting individuals to screening and assessment services, and helping participants access recovery support and community resources.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct grassroots outreach throughout the Greater Fitchburg area and surrounding communities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, treatment providers, shelters, first responders, schools, faith communities, and other referral partners.
  • Engage individuals who may benefit from recovery support services and connect them to timely screenings, assessments, treatment, and community resources.
  • Represent Restoration Recovery Center at community events, health fairs, coalition meetings, and outreach activities.
  • Provide peer-based support, encouragement, and recovery education when appropriate.
  • Maintain an active outreach schedule, including regular community visits and outreach events.
  • Assist with participant engagement, follow-up, and linkage to services.
  • Accurately document participant contacts, referrals, and services in RDP and other required databases.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with Recovery Coaches, program staff, and community partners to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist in Recovery Month activities and other organizational events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred.
  • Experience in recovery support, behavioral health, human services, community outreach, or a related field preferred.
  • Recovery Coach Academy certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally.

Physical & Work Requirements

This position requires frequent travel within the community, occasional evening or weekend events, prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to transport outreach materials as needed.
