Clinical Intern

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Delivering mental health services to clients with a variety of needs including trauma, anxiety, and depression.
• Completion of intake and assessments as needed to determine the appropriate level of care
• Completion of all required documentation in client file within set timeframes in accordance with state regulations and program policies and procedures
• Completion of individual treatment plan
• Collaboration with collaterals, family, and other community supports
• Ability to develop and facilitate group treatment
• Ongoing individual, and family counseling
• Crisis intervention and support as needed
• Work as part of the outpatient team
• Professionally represent the mission of Link House Inc. and actively collaborate with all agency programs
• Participate in supervision as required by state or school regulations
• Attend staff meetings
• Any other duties assigned by management

Supervisory / Management: No supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Enrolled in a master’s degree program in counseling or related field
• Familiarity with ASAM Dimensions
• Interest in treating children and/or adolescents
• Interest in working with individuals diagnosed with substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders required
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and writing skills
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings: Adam Walsh/DCF background check, CORI, and drug screen

Environment and Physical Requirements

• This position operates in an outpatient clinic setting for the majority of the time, with occasional work outside of the clinic, such as in the community
• Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move throughout the clinic

Interns may receive academic credit where approved by their educational institution.
