Bilingual Mental Health Assistant/Clinician
The mission of FCR is to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all survivors of trauma, including those impacted by domestic and sexual violence, substance abuse, bereavement, and other causes. Small trauma based mental health program is immediately seeking MSW or similar clinical background and training for the Mental Health Case Manager/Therapist role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of Mental Health Program Intake Process
- Assist with programming for FCR’s Child Witness to Violence Services
- Carry caseload of clients with 17 billable sessions weekly
- Assist with all aspects of the Mental Health Program’s Intake process including screening referrals, verifying insurances, scheduling intake appointments and documenting client intake process
- Work closely with the Director of Mental Health Services
- Work closely with the Psychiatric Assistant when needed
- Provide therapeutic services to adults, adolescents and child clients who have experienced trauma both
clinic and community based when safe and clinically appropriate to do so
- Assist with development and implementation of therapeutic and psycho-educational groups both clinic and community based
- Provide consultation/treatment to families and consultation to collateral contacts
- Provide case management/advocacy as needed for assigned clients
- Provide crisis intervention for assigned clients, as well as to the agency’s general client populations
- Participate in on-call rotation for the agency’s mental health clients when the agency is closed
- Attend and actively participate in supervision as scheduled
- Respond to client and clinic needs as appropriate to facilitate sound clinical practice
- Participate in required administrative, clinical and team meetings as an active member
- Complete all necessary clinical, case management and administrative paperwork in a timely manner,
including managed care procedures
- Work in accordance with agency philosophy, policies and procedures
- Maintain clinical licensure, if applicable
- Assist with community education and training as needed
- Attend community meetings as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
- Some evening work required
- Occasional minimal coverage as needed for administrative services
Requirements
- Masters in related clinical field and licensed or license eligible
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to problem solve and resolve conflict effectively
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and plan ahead
- Ability for self-reflection and team collaboration for improving our collective work to undo racism, sexism, transphobia and other oppressions.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people, e.g. community partners, practitioners, program staff, interns & volunteers
- Ability to work within a high paced environment with competing demands while ensuring high quality work by self
- Demonstrated crisis intervention, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of child protection services and the criminal justice system as they relate to victims/survivors of violence and their families is helpful
- The ability and desire to work with diverse populations including, but not limited to, non-English speaking families, LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning) survivors, and individuals with histories of substance abuse and/or mental health challenges.
- Excellent oral/interactive and written communication skills; sound computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively, internally and externally.
- Ability to follow through on obtaining and maintaining required data and documents for record-keeping and reporting, and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively multi-task.
- Flexibility and willingness to assist with all aspects of agency.
- All other duties as assigned
Hours:
This position is full-time at 35 hours per week and requires two early evenings per week until 7PM
Salary Range: 32.97-38.48 per hour dependent on working towards licensure level
$500 sign-on bonus to be paid after six months of employment with a positive review.
