In this training, participants will examine the impact of trauma on emotional and behavioral regulation and review practical, trauma-informed approaches for responding to challenging interactions with youth and young adults. The session will explore how traumatic experiences can influence behavior and functioning, helping participants better understand the connection between trauma and regulation. Attendees will be introduced to strategies for preventing crises and trauma-informed techniques for managing challenging behavior. The training will also outline the process of supportive debriefing following difficult encounters and highlight ways to foster safety, self-regulation, and resilience in the workplace.
