September is Recovery Month, and we’re thrilled to mark MOAR’s 36th Annual Recovery Month Celebration Day on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Shubert Theatre. Since its founding in 1991, the Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery (MOAR) has grown into a powerful statewide movement dedicated to promoting recovery from addiction, shaping public policy, and reducing the stigma associated with substance use disorders. MOAR is led by and for people in recovery, along with their families and allies, making it a true community-driven force. Addiction is a complex and chronic health condition that affects individuals from all backgrounds and communities. Recovery is a personal journey that looks different for everyone — whether through treatment, peer support, medication, or a combination of paths. What unites those in recovery is resilience, hope, and a commitment to living healthy, productive lives. That’s why our celebration includes a rally, march, and festivities to honor the strength of individuals and families impacted by addiction.
