Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches

Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches is a 3-day training that addresses many areas including: defining the coaching service role and functions, coaching standards, issues of vulnerability, ethical decision making, performance enhancement and legal issues.

This course will help Recovery Coaches maintain good boundaries when serving others.

Linda Sarage has been in recovery for over 35 years and is a passionate advocate for the peer recovery movement. She coordinates peer recovery support state-wide with MA DPH Bureau of Substance Addiction Services and is a lead trainer for the Recovery Coach Academy. Additionally, she supported the development and is a lead trainer for the Supervisors of Recovery Coach learning cycle. Linda is the former director of the RECOVER Project, a peer recovery support center in Greenfield, MA. Under her direction the RECOVER Project achieved local, state and national attention for its peer-participatory, trauma-informed approach to recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. She continues to provide technical assistance to peer recovery organizations both locally and nationally. Angela Dalessio bio Angela Dalessio, LADC is the Program Director for Spectrum Health System’s Peer Recovery Support Center in Marlborough, MA. In addition, she facilitates Domestic Violence Prevention and Driver Alcohol Education classes within the organization. She has over 20 years’ experience in substance abuse recovery and is a licensed counselor. Angela is a lead trainer for CCAR's Recovery Coach Academy and Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches. She has been recognized by the Massachusetts Association for Behavioral Health for her work in substance abuse recovery. In 2011 she received the Moe Armstrong award for her excellence in peer leadership. Angela has presented nationally at SAMHSA’s Ninth Innovation in Treatment and Recovery Systems Conference.
