*This is a one year contract position eligible for renewal based on performance and funding.* The Recovery Coach will provide peer recovery support services to individuals with substance use disorder (SUD)/ opioid use disorder (OUD) and will assist them in achieving sustained recovery. This position will facilitate access to recovery-oriented substance use disorder treatment, resources, and community recovery groups. The Recovery Coach supports the individual by helping develop an aftercare plan to prevent relapse, monitoring the progress of the individual, encouraging connection, fellowship, and mutual support with others experiencing similar issues. They deliver positive reinforcement, helping individuals address and repair the past and be productive members of society. This position will maintain ongoing support regardless of relapse and will serve as a motivator, ally, role model, problem-solver, and advocate for individuals with substance use disorders. The Recovery Coach should possess a thorough understanding of community culture to address the barriers to successful recovery, better tailor health messages, and partner with community organizations to provide needed recovery resources. The ARC recovery coach should be certified and licensed through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Abuse Services.
