As many clients struggle with ambivalence and resistance to change, practitioners often find it challenging to engage clients effectively and motivate lasting behavior change. This seminar offers in-depth training in motivational interviewing (MI), a client-centered, strength-based approach proven to enhance engagement and support meaningful change. Participants will explore the foundational principles of MI and develop practical skills in building rapport, eliciting change talk, and guiding clients toward self-directed actions. Through role-playing, case analysis, and hands-on practice with core techniques like reflective listening, affirmations, and strategic questioning, attendees will gain the skills needed to foster stronger therapeutic relationships and help clients achieve lasting, transformative outcomes. This training will be led by Devin Stevenson, Clinical Director, Victory Programs.
