Infant Safer Sleep Training

Event description
Funded by BSAS
Yes
Introductory level
Yes

In this 2.5-hour virtual training, participants will receive an overview of all domains of infant safer sleep, including sleep environment, sleep position, and risk and protective factors. Participants will receive further guidance in the practical application of this safe sleep knowledge. Trainers will provide clear information, answer frequently asked questions, and facilitate empowering discussion on how to address parental concerns and other challenges that may arise, such as co-sleeping.  As we seek to actively de-shame this topic as a whole, the training will also dive into the cultural and individual experiences and values that go into beliefs and behaviors around infant sleep practices so that providers can have clear, empathetic, and culturally responsive conversations with the parents they support.
