This workshop explores the connection between history, cultural heritage, and mental health within the context of youth and young adult service provision. Participants will examine how historical trauma, cultural erasure, and disconnection from ancestral knowledge can impact the social, emotional, and psychological well-being of youth and young adults. The session also highlights how supporting the reclamation of history and cultural heritage can serve as protective factors that promote identity development, resilience, and healing among youth and young adult populations, and offers practical considerations for providers integrating these approaches into their work.
