These Terms of Use are intended to make experience of the Careers of Substance website productive and effective for users and content originators. They apply to all users and content originators at all times.

3. Training & Events Calendar, and Recovery Support Trainings

The Careers of Substance Training & Events calendar provides information about addictions workforce-related events, and the Recovery Support Trainings section provides specialized information about BSAS sponsored recovery support trainings.

This website is not a confidential* space. No confidential information about individuals (whether staff or clients) should be discussed. Self-disclosure via posting of resumes is voluntary, as is use of the Contact form.

  • Resumes are visible to logged in users, but are not intended to be widely searchable on the web.
  • Note that once an email is sent through the Contact form, the recipient will remain anonymous but will see the sender’s email address. If the recipient chooses to reply, then their own email address will be seen by the person who initiated contact. Such conversations which take place via outside email are beyond the responsibility of Careers of Substance.
  • It is each user's responsibility to follow these policies. If users see any inappropriate content, they should alert the site Administrator immediately.
  • Any member who does not follow these rules may be asked to leave the group, or may be removed from the group.

*“Confidential” means any information about a person that would allow them to be identified with reasonable accuracy and speed, either directly or by reference to other information.

For example:

  • The person’s name, address, social security number, or record number;
  • Photographs or physical descriptions of the person;
  • Where the person lives, works, or spends time;
  • Names or descriptions of family members or other people they associate or work with;
  • Where these other people live, work or spend time.
  • If ever discussing a specific person, be as vague as possible: ACCEPTABLE: “A person I work with is struggling with another family member’s addiction and legal issues” NOT ACCEPTABLE “I work with a man whose brother was just arrested for possession in Northampton.”

5. Privacy

Careers of Substance administrators will not intentionally release or sell the contact information left by users. Careers of Substance administrators may send an email to individuals to clarify comments, or to announce a change in the website. Some users voluntarily share information for the purpose of communicating with each other outside of Careers of Substance after receiving messages through the contact form.

6. Accuracy of information

Although Careers of Substance contributors and administrators will try to keep information up to date and accurate, that is not always possible - content is provided on an “as is” basis.
