Why Ethics? Recovery coaching as a peer-to-peer recovery support services has grown exponentially over the past five years. Over 12000 coaches have been trained using the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy alone. Even with this tremendous amount of growth in the field, the subject of Ethics and recovery Coaching had been discussed, but formal training has been lacking. CCAR developed a two day training that delivers the content Recovery Coaches need to know about ethical decision making. It’s not just about skills and content. It is and always will be about the people…your stories, your experiences and the transformation that happens. This is the art of Recovery Coaching and ethics are a huge part of what we do!
Using presentations, small group work, role play and case studies, many areas will be addressed including: defining the coaching service role and functions, coaching standards, issues of vulnerability, ethical decision making, performance enhancement and legal issues.
