Life Skills Training Level 2 Certification (Marlborough)

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
This training is the same as the one offered in Marlborough on 8/10/16.
The Life Skills Training Level 1 Certification is a pre-requisite for this training. You must complete the level 1 in person or on-line training in order to participate in this training.
Description: Life Skills Training (LST) Level 2 prepares adults to help decrease the rates of youthful alcohol and other drug use by training them to deliver LST Booster Sessions in the 7 or 8th grade. Some of their middle school students may or may not have attended LST Level 1, but the interactive activities will engage all students in the class. The Level 2 Training is targeted for individuals who have already attended a Level 1 LST foundation training and will now be delivering a new grade level (2) of the program. Free Level 2 Curriculum and Student Guides will be given to each participant. Objectives: Upon Completion of this training, the participants will (be able to):
- Identify and address issues experienced in the delivery of Level 1 LST.
- Delineate the instructional similarities and differences between the levels.
- Describe the developmental differences of the target age groups in Level 2 training.
- Use the enrichment activities to promote student engagement in these prevention of substance abuse sessions.

6.0 hours of Continuing Education will be offered for Nurses (RN/LPN) through the Mass Nursing Board of Registration. Continuing Education are transferable to PDP points. Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) credits have been applied for.
