Treatment programs should send one person who oversees HR activities, including Intern hiring and onboarding and one who oversees the intern activities at the program (e.g. supervision and experience opportunities).
Education programs should send one person who oversees internship/practicum placements and one who provides instruction in addiction education courses.
Description:
This meeting will provide an opportunity for treatment providers and educators from the Southeast /MetroWest region to learn from each other about the specific needs and expectations of, and opportunities for, student interns from a range of educational settings, from those participating in 300-hour Addiction Education Certificate programs, to those in Bachelor’s programs.
Objectives:
Participants will describe their own programs and internship opportunities/needs and hear from others; learn about common myths and facts related to intern opportunities; begin to brainstorm ideas to break down barriers; network with potential collaborators and begin to make new connections for interns.
