Addressing Chronic Marijuana Use in Youth & Young Adults

DESCRIPTION:
In this training we will focus on how to engage youth in conversation about their use of marijuana and how to address resistance and other developmental challenges. We will explore the impact of chronic marijuana use in a variety of functional areas, including physical, behavioral, psychological and emotional. Other topics will include the impact of recent changes to the law on attitudes and behavior, and family use of marijuana.
OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, participants will (be able to):
Learn and have an opportunity to practice strategies to engage youth and young adults in conversation about their use of marijuana and how to address resistance and other developmental challenges.
Identify the physical, behavioral, psychological, and emotional impact of chronic marijuana use on youth and young adults.
Explore their own attitudes about marijuana and explore how those attitudes may impact work with youth and young adults.
